Back in late July we had a Saturday Afternoon Record Club session that was all about Go-Go. The good news is that we aren’t doing that again this weekend, as way too many people complained. The bad news is that I have plenty more Go-Go records where those came from and I can employ them at the drop of a hat. I seldom respond positively to complaints, so let’s just say don’t make me Go-Go there. It’s hot as heck around here right now and people seem to want things to stay in Sleepy Matsumoto mode. I can dig that.
Here’s the vibe we’ll be shooting for:
Let’s all get real quiet and be good listeners, like The Harmonettes.
We can be extra polite to each other while we listen to our favorite readings from the works of William Shakespeare.
Nothing makes me drowsy faster than listening to William Frawley doing just about anything with the old ones.
Folk music puts me on the nod, especially if it’s the authentic stuff.
This one looks soothing but I’m concerned that drink may be caffeinated.
Let’s boring!
I can’t make up my mind about this situation. I mean it seems dull but what if his horse gets into some loco weed or something?
What a tedious subject for a song! This couldn’t possibly be stimulating!
Now here’s the excitement level we’ve been looking for, in a nutshell.
King me! But not too loudly.
